With this post, I hope to make this a place to document my experiences.
Even if my writing is clumsy or awkward, I will keep working at it.
Over 4 years at two companies, I had little experience with Kubernetes or Docker, which left me with a vague sense of apprehension.
I often thought, 'I haven't done this before, so I should leave it alone. What if I touch something and make things worse?' Then a major outage happened. I think it was only after realizing I could do nothing to help that I decided to prepare for the CKA.
Like many others, I took Mumshad Mannambeth's course on Udemy. I focused on learning Kubernetes rather than earning the certification, and it helped a great deal. Repeating the course's Practice Test, Lightning Lab, and Mock Exam also helped me solidify the concepts.
I started preparing specifically for the exam two days beforehand, after reading reviews saying the questions were almost identical to those on ITExam. When I took the exam, that turned out to be true. If you want to earn the certification very quickly, I think repeatedly working through the ITExam questions alone may be enough.
Between a little laziness and personal commitments, I kept putting off studying and taking the exam. Having finally taken it, I wonder why I waited. If you are thinking about the CKA, go ahead and act on it :)
